1985 Golf Part out
« on: April 19, 2011, 03:45:41 pm »
I have frame and rust issues so I am parting whatever is good out of it. Some of those things are:

Engine~ 1.6NA diesel. Ran great when pulled, new t-stat, new Autolite glowplugs. Timing belt IDK. Mechanical head. Good oil pressure. HG seeps. No A/c, No P/S. $350

Trans~ Good ACH diesel trans. Tall 5th gear (.75), clutch held fine. $250

VW 14" Aluminum wheels. 4x100 bolt pattern, 3 good tires. $150

Good spare donut~$50

Most of the dash is either broken, or cracked.

Speedo was never hooked up so ODOMETER is in unknown condition. Clock works fine. 1 bulb burnt out. $30

2nd Speedo, worked when pulled but little strip for lights tore. $30.

Full wiring harness minus the light connectors and fan connector (have it, was just cut off from the guy I got it from.) From an 86 model car. Unknown if CE1 or CE2. Was not the same as on the 85 Golf. $70

Single rounds support, lights, badgeless grill with 1/2 the tabs broken, light connectors. $100

Small bumpers, front and back. $100

Interior parts that are good: Back seat. The front seats are ok, some tears. Make offer.

PM me for a quicker response.

Paypal accepted.

Jon

If this Golf has the non-standard shifter column (non standard being just the small dish behind the gearshift rather than the standard "cubby box") I'd be interested!

Any chance you've still got the levers for the climate control? I only need one lever, so I understand if it's too small to fool with.

I'm looking for the bolts to mount the front seatbelts.  (Regular 3-point style, not the ridiculous "passive" system.)  Do you have those?  I need all 4 bolts - 2 upper and 2 lower on each side.

Thanks!

Aren't all seat belts passive restraint?  :P LOL!

Yeah, let me see if I can get to them tomorrow.

Actually, If the seat belts are black, and in nice shape, I'll take them, too.  To make it worth your while, and so I'll have a spare set.  How much would you want for the 2 front seat belts, and the mounting bolts?  I'm in Berkeley, California, 94704.

Yeah, I don't get that "passive restraint" moniker, either.  That system is so strange.  You get caught up and strangled in the door mounted shoulder strap, and then you feel like you're already strapped in, and tend to forget to put on the lap belt.   I guess an "active restraint" system is when you're a kid and your mom reaches over and puts an arm in front of you when she steps on the brakes.  As if that's gonna help...

Thanks.

I will try to get what you guys want tomorrow. I have been busy with work. Stupid truckers. Can't make their appointments (granted some have legit reasons) and I have to stay to get them unloaded because the item is "hot"...
