1.9 AEF, Bosch pump?
« on: July 12, 2008, 04:47:31 am »
Hi i have a t25 van with a 1.9 n/a aef polo engine fitted in it. The engine has a lucas diesel pump. is it possible to fit a Bosch diesel pump instead.
If so what pump will fit? ie AAZ? etc.

Thanks
dridgy

Itīll fit. If you use the bracket the Bosch IP was mounted to. The centre hole in the Lucas bracket is bigger than the Bosch one.

I just converted my Polo 6N with AEF engine to a AFN 1.9TDI with mechanical Bosch pump.

Sorry for the crappy pictures. My digigital camera was broken and I took these with my telephone.

Inlet manifold with airtemp. sensor

You can see the small wheel through the cover. (I have to modify it)

I have to install the FMIC and break in the engine. For now low boost, small turbo.

I encountered some problems, but not for the pumpbracket conversion. The brackets from the 1900D 1X and the 1900TD AAZ/ABL are both ok to use.

You can use one from a TDI but that one has got the additional wheel for  the belt. The metal plate to keep the cover in place and the cover it selve aren't suitable for the wheel. I modified them (make some pictures if you like)

Would you be willing to share some info on your pump configuration - maybe via PM.

PLEASE!

It's not a secret. I modify and sell the 12mm LT pump for usage on the M-TDI engines.

Changed: Govenor, rear mounting bracket, advanced timing mechanism. You can have a look at the link in my signature.

What kind of sensor used to measure the airtemperature ?

Is it so simple that you can use a EGT sensor ?

I used an aftermarket sensor in Ohm resistance. You can also use a outside air temperature meter for it.

for reading it out I used a Temperature controller. I can sell you a set if you like for about 80 and a little bit for sending it to Sweden.
