I've always wondered why the old 1.5's had a similar system, then the 1.6's just had a plate bolted up, then the 1.9's went back again to the breather in the block setup...
Why did every generation of VW diesel get the block ventilation except the 1.6?
I put one of these on an old worn out 1.6 that had tons of blow-by coming out of dipstick and oil filler thinking it would miraculously cure my oil consumption.
It still consumed/leaked an awful lot, so not sure what it really accomplished.
All the seals/gaskets in the block probably thanked me, I'm sure it relieves some pressure and stops weeping a bit...
I had 2 of these complete sets for sale recently, but they both sold quick.
I'm going to run one on my 1.6TD Caddy just because I think the set-up looks cool.
